7 Mother's Day Gift Ideas for the Happy Mom in Your Life
Mother's Day is right around the corner! I'm trying to think about how I feel about Mother's Day this year with everything that's going on. I know I've said it like a million times, but there really is a lot going on, so it's hard to think about other fun stuff like Mother's Day...and it's definitely a day worth honoring in my mind! Mother's Day has special meaning to me beyond just the day.
In My Feelings
My firstborn Ryan’s due date was May 15, and with Mother’s Day being May 10 that year, there was always this sweetness thinking he could be born on Mother's Day. Just the fact that I was going to have my first baby around that holiday meant so much to me. As I’ve shared before, it was harder for us to get pregnant with Ryan, so when I finally did get pregnant and find out I could become a mom so close to Mother’s Day, it was just so exciting and special! And it’s been like that ever since now that we celebrate his birthday right around Mother’s Day each year.
Now with my third little one on the way and due May 23, there’s a good chance he might be born on Mother’s Day! His brother Leo was born nine days before his due date, and his older brother Ryan was born two days before his due date, so my doctor said that taking the average of those, he could be born a week early (though you never can tell for sure). So, Mother’s Day will have some excitement around it again this year, not only because number three is blooming and could arrive around then, but also because we are celebrating Ryan’s fourth birthday Mother’s Day weekend!
If I’m not in labor or in the hospital with my new baby, my plan is just to have a relaxed day with my family. Honestly, after all the craziness and excitement of Happy Mom Conference, it’ll be nice to just relax and spend the day with my favorite people, my boys. I'd love to go to the beach or be outdoors if the weather’s nice, and we’ll have a nice luncheon but just keep it super chill, because Mama is exhausted!
MOTHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS
Let's talk gifts for mamas! I wanted to share with you some of my favorite gift ideas for Mother’s Day. This is a great section for you to share with your hubby or significant other or any older children who may be shopping for you if you want to give them that little “hint hint.”
1. Clothes: Rachael Harrah
The Rachael Harrah line is really amazing. I’m loving her materials, which are all natural fabrics using low impact dyes. As I’ve said before, I’m obsessed with linen. It’s such a relaxing material and I just love the way it feels! Her pieces are stunning and such a simplistic, minimalistic style which is exactly what I love and she nails it! Her clothes are easy to buy as Mother’s Day gifts because the sizing is very forgiving and their size guide makes it easy.
Some of my favorites include this short sleeve shirt that I just got in off white and these overalls. They’re easy to nurse with, and since they’re so forgiving size-wise I can wear them while pregnant as well as after the baby is born.
2. Jewelry: 31 Bits
31 Bits has the sweetest necklaces and some amazing charms for Mother’s Day. I recently got one with the initials for my three boys, an R and an L and one more (not telling yet because we haven’t announced his name). I love how I can incorporate all three boys and have them on my neckline close to my heart. They also have a sweet “mama” necklace, “mama bird” necklace and earrings, and other elegant pieces. Beyond the beauty of their products, 31 Bits jewelry is all ethically made by artisans around the world, bringing dignity and change to their lives.
31 Bits will be at Happy Mom Conference, and gifting every attendee a bracelet that you can add a charm to! Additionally, they will be in the Mother’s Marketplace, so you can go and shop some charms and other pieces there.
31 Bits is giving away a “mama” necklace to one of our happy moms!

3. A Spa Day
I think rest and relaxation are the best forms of self-care, so giving the mama in your life a mani & pedi, massage, or facial gift certificate is always, always a treat! Sometimes as moms we get so busy and the last thing we think to book for ourselves is a nice little self-care treatment.
4. Something Sweet
I love a sweet gift: a box of chocolate or some other kind of sweet treat. Personally, I’m obsessed with sour belts right now. If you have a candy station or store somewhere in your area, I think a bag of candy attached to any sort of gift is a nice, sweet little addition.
Chocolate and flowers may seem cliché, but sometimes the classics are just what a mama wants! Go the extra mile and find out what kinds of flowers your mama (or significant other) loves, and maybe even customize an arrangement just for her at your local flower shop! My personal fave are white roses.
6. Candles: Lit Soul Candles
What better way to help create a serene environment for the mama in your life than with a candle with a scent she loves? Lit Soul Candles has a great selection that includes a meditation crystal in each candle, plus a beautiful mission to help individuals experiencing homelessness in the Los Angeles area. Oh, and did I mention the founder of Lit Soul Candles, Monica Brown, will be on the Mamas Making Change panel at Happy Mom Conference?
7. Happy Mom Conference Tickets!
Finally, an amazing gift to give the mom in your life is a ticket to Happy Mom Conference, which you can buy right here. This is the ultimate self-care day, so it’s you gifting a mama literally a day to herself. This one, mom, if you want to, literally grab the link and forward to your hubby to buy it for you and treat you to this day! To give you a day off from watching babies, caring for babies, doing house chores, running errands, and to just focus on yourself, listen to some inspirational speakers, get a little pampering, and get your mindset right. Take on any of the hurdles or challenges going on in your life with the inspiration of the mamas that will be there, network with some amazing, like-minded women, and of course shop the Mother’s Marketplace and treat yourself to the amazing vendors that will be there, including Via Saviene, LATHER, Samata Stones, LYL Body Care, and so many more! Then walk away from the day feeling refreshed, recharged, and reenergized.
I really hope to see a bunch of you at Happy Mom Conference this year! If you’re there, definitely say hi to me. I will probably be sitting somewhere because I am so freakin' pregnant! Check out the Happy Mom Conference Instagram for more quotes from other moms who have attended in the past and to get a feel for what you can expect out of the day.
I hope that you have a beautiful Mother’s Day that’s just what you need, mama!
